Derik Heumann joins Sequoias with 20+ years of experience leading himself, teams, and organizations. Derik’s passion for organizational leadership and developing healthy teams started at age 11 through Boy Scouts of America.

Derik has served and held positions within churches, non-profits, and academic institutions. Derik is a lifelong learner, an entrepreneurial leader, church planter, pastor, trainer, and coach.

Derik holds M.Div. and M.A. degrees, along with a leadership certificate from Asbury Theological Seminary, is a certified coach and trainer through Forge America, Dynamic Church Planting International (DCPI), and Mission Igniter. Derik also serves as a hub leader for Forge America and as a board member of Mission Igniter: a church planting incubator. Derik is an ICF certified coach at the PCC level. 

Derik, his wife Kim, and 3 children live in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
